Hubei Power Corporation was informed that the first global ±800 kv extra-high voltage hot line job was successful. This task was taken by seven experts from its subsidiary company—Hubei Ultra High-voltage Power Electric Transmission and Transformation Corporation.

It is learned that it is only in China that there is ±800 kv extra-high voltage DC power transmission project under construction.

Extra-high voltage power tansmission was featured by high voltage, long transmission distance, large transmission capacity, non-synchronizing networking. It is revealed that ±800 kv extra-high voltage can transform 620-640 million kilowatt-hours per hour. As the important recondition measure, hot line job will effictively ensure extra-high voltage transmission line can continuously supply power, it makes significant sense to the safety and stability of power grids.

Su Zhiyi, the experts of national power grids corporation, said that this is the first global ±800 kv extra-high voltage hot line job. It indicates our natioanl extra-high voltage hot line job has maken a significiant breakthrough.
