Today, on the tenth anniversary Development of Western Region, National Development Reform Commition announces the state plan of newly-started 18 key projects in the Development of Western Region 2009. The volumeof total investment of newly-started 18 projects is 468.9 Billion Yuan, among which there are four power construction projects, and the investment scale is 42.25 Billion Yuan.

It is reported that the four power construction projects are Dadu River Luding Hydropower Plant in Sichuan, Lancang River Gongguo Bridge Hydropower Plant in Yunnan, the power construction in western no-power region, Jialing River Tingzikou Power Plant in Sichuan, Yuliangshui Power Plant in Guangxi. The Dadu River Luding Hydropower Plant in Sichuan installed capacity is 920,000 KW, with an annual generating capacity of 3.782 billion KW, and total investment of 8.8 Billion Yuan. Lancang River Gongguo Bridge Hydropower Plant in Yunnan installed capacity is 900,000 KW, with an annual generating capacity of 4.041 billion KW, and total investment of 8.7 Billion Yuan.

Currently, these two projects are in auditing stage.
